Zumba

Zumba® – combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the participants to dance away their worries & 500-700 calories. It is based on the principle that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO” in order for participants to stick to the Zumba® fitness program to achieve long-term health benefits. Zumba® utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. No dance experience required. Zumba® is not only great for the body, but is also great for the mind. It is a “feel-happy” workout so add some spice and flare to your workout and come shake your cha-cha!

Zumba Gold® –(Beginner) is a series of fitness programs specifically designed to take the exciting Latin and International dance rhythms created in the original Zumba® and bring them to the active older adult, the beginner participant, and the other special populations that may need modifications for success.

 

Butts ‘N Gutts

This is a fast and intense workout that focuses on strengthening and toning abs, core,  and glutes.

Yoga Basics

A gentle yoga class that moves at a slower pace.  Ideal for beginners to become acquainted with a yoga practice.  Also ideal for experienced yogis who would like to slow down their practice or revisit the basics.
Regular practice builds balance, strength and flexibility while equipping us with the techniques to deal with stress, anxiety, anger and depression.

Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga is practiced in a room heated to approximately 85 to 90 degrees. Practicing in the heat may help improve joint mobility. Hot Yoga helps you move deeper into postures and allows for a greater range of movement. Many people see a great improvement in aches and pains with regular practice. You’ll burn fat more effectively, get a cardiovascular workout and the sweating promotes detoxification through the skin. Hot Yoga is also great for increasing circulation and improving metabolism. And because of the unique challenge of moving through postures in the heat, focus and concentration tends to improve both on and off the mat. This Yoga is of a Vinyasa type.

*It is extremely important to hydrate well BEFORE and DURING a hot yoga class. Do not eat for 2-3 hours before practice. Wear comfortable, but not baggy clothes such as exercise shorts that will allow you to sweat. Bring a towel, block, and straps.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow Yoga – an invigorating, sweat-producing, strengthening and limbering workout that connects the movement with the breath, allowing you to become aware of your body. Set to upbeat and fun music in a class led with a sense of humor, it allows us to take the yoga seriously while taking ourselves lightly. Some classes are detoxifying, some energizing, some soothing and sometimes all of the above, but you will leave feeling alive and ready to face your day by the end of class. Excellent for all levels, including intermediate and advanced yoga students and although some yoga experience is helpful, beginners new to yoga will learn modifications to build a solid foundation of strength and flexibility.
